Meet The Captains

Captain Laura
Captain Laura's journey on the water began at the age of three, cruising Nova Scotia's waters with her family. From those childhood summers spent exploring favorite spots like Rogues Roost and Deep Cove, to sail training at the Dartmouth Yacht Club, her love for the sea was sparked early. At just seventeen, Laura made her first Atlantic crossing aboard a tall ship, marking the start of her professional maritime career.
Straight out of high school, Laura pursued her maritime dreams, earning her first licence in 2002 from NSCC Nautical Institute. She then attended BCIT’s Marine Campus for four years, achieving a Watchkeeping Mate licence, followed by a 150t Masters, and recently graduated with a Degree in Maritime Studies from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Along the way, she managed to balance her demanding career with raising two young sons.
Having navigated vessels of all sizes across the world's oceans, Captain Laura’s dedication to safe operations and crew care is unmatched. With deep local knowledge, she provides unforgettable excursions through the “Big Harbour” (any Theodore Tugboat fans among us?). Her commitment to both passenger safety and the beauty of the waters she navigates truly defines her as a mariner.
